Vacancy type: Non Technical

Job scope
•The Director, EMEA Market owns airline development and route growth across Europe, the Middle East and Africa — attracting carriers, winning new routes and building capacity and frequency from the EMEA region into Muscat. The role consolidates two previously thin, separate geographic directorates (Russia & CIS and Rest of World) into a single line with a manager and specialist team, so the market is covered with depth and a genuine succession bench rather than a single point of failure.
Accountabilities
•Owns EMEA route development, setting and delivering the route-attraction plan for the region — target carriers, target city-pairs and the case for each.
•Grows capacity and frequency, converting existing carrier relationships into more routes, frequency and seats from EMEA markets.
•Builds the carrier pipeline, identifying and engaging new and prospective carriers and working the network-planning cycle from prospect to launched service.
•Owns the market case, maintaining the demand, competitor and connectivity analysis that underpins each route proposition and working with the incentive function on the economics.
•Builds the team and the bench, developing the EMEA manager and specialists as the succession pipeline into the director role — the depth the previous thin structure lacked.
•Engages government and stakeholders, supporting bilateral, slot and market-access discussions relevant to EMEA connectivity.
Qualifications, experience and skills
•Brings a minimum of 10 years in aviation route or network development or airline commercial, with senior accountability and a continuous record in those roles.
•Has held direct accountability for winning routes or growing capacity in EMEA or comparable markets, with named routes or carriers won or grown and a clear personal role.
•Has engaged carrier network-planning and commercial decision-makers, at a senior level.
•Can evidence building and developing a commercial or development team, with the team size and structure led and the progression of reports.
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, digital or a related discipline, or a professional qualification benchmarked at postgraduate level (RQF / EQF Level 7 or equivalent) — for example CIM Level 7 (Chartered Marketer).
• Asia market development is owned by the Director, Asia Market. Aeronautical pricing, tariff and airline revenue, and the ongoing commercial account management of carriers, are owned by the Director, Airline Accounts & Revenue — this role develops and wins carriers, then hands the account across. Air-connectivity incentive design is owned by Air-Incentive Economics (E1); this role uses incentives, it does not set them.
