Job Description
Providing technical and strategic consultations related to investors' energy requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide technical and strategic advice on investors’ energy requirements.
- Prepare studies and analyses related to energy, gas, electricity, renewable energy, green hydrogen, and its derivatives.
- Advise on energy-related policies, plans, and initiatives that support investment.
- Evaluate investment opportunities in the energy sector and assess their technical, economic, and strategic feasibility.
- Review technical and feasibility studies submitted by investors and consultants, and provide opinions and recommendations.
- Provide technical advice on solar energy, wind energy, green hydrogen, green ammonia, and low-carbon fuel projects.
- Analyze the energy requirements of investment projects.
- Assess the readiness of infrastructure and energy transmission and distribution networks to meet the needs of current and future projects.
- Monitor developments and emerging technologies in the energy sector, and assess opportunities for their adoption and use.
- Analyze energy market trends, fuel prices, and changes affecting supply, demand, and supply chains, along with their impact on investment infrastructure.
- Develop scenarios and forecasts for future energy requirements, and identify suitable alternatives to secure supplies.
- Assess technical, operational, economic, regulatory, and environmental risks associated with energy projects.
- Propose appropriate plans and measures to address risks and challenges and ensure continuity of energy supplies.
- Advise on power purchase agreements, gas and fuel supply agreements, and connecting projects to electricity grids and utility networks.
- Monitor the performance and completion rates of energy projects, and verify compliance with approved plans, specifications, and requirements.
- Provide technical support to address challenges faced by investors and developers in meeting their energy needs.
- Coordinate with government and regulatory authorities, electricity, gas, and water companies, developers, and investors.
- Ensure that energy projects comply with applicable laws, regulations, technical standards, and health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Provide recommendations on reducing carbon emissions and achieving net-zero and environmental sustainability goals.
- Prepare technical reports, advisory memoranda, presentations, and summaries of recommendations for decision-makers.
- Provide technical opinions to management on energy-related decisions, initiatives, and projects.
Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
- A university qualification in Energy Engineering or another field relevant to the role.
- At least 10 years of professional experience in the energy sector.
- Proficiency in spoken and written Arabic and English.
